Synergy Architects has significant healthcare expertise and has a proven track record in delivering state-of-the-art facilities. We have undertaken projects nationwide, working with NHS trusts, PCTs and private sector medical organisations, as well as independent medical practices, with involvement from Outline Business Case onwards, and across the range of procurement routes (traditional, D&B, ProCure 21 and LIFT). The practice has a reputation for innovation in healthcare, and since developing one of the first independent day surgery units in 1993, we have been involved in over thirty similar units throughout the country.

We understand the constraints and processes in delivering new facilities in live and/or sensitive environments, and our experience in the interpretation and application of NHS Estates design standards (HBNs, HTMs, etc) means we can be trusted to provide flexible, cost effective solutions that meet the practicalities of patient care on every project.

At Synergy we believe that healthcare environments can themselves be therapeutic and inspiring. At Countess of Chester Hospital, the Trust were so delighted by the bright, fresh look that we created in the new Fertility Unit that they decided to adopt it on schemes throughout the hospital.

The practice has enjoyed a long relationship with the Countess of Chester Hospital, including a six-year term commission. As lead consultant, we have completed over fifty projects at Chester, including a Day Surgery Unit, Cataract Centre, ECG department, Outpatients Department, CT Scanner Unit, and Education & Training Centre.
In 2007 we entered a Framework agreement with Nottingham University Hospitals. Projects already completed at Nottingham include a £5.6m Urology Department, a £6.0m Clinical Haematology Unit, and a £2.0m Short Stay Unit.
